Calgary, AB – December 3, 2021

Today, on International Day of Persons with DisabilitiesIncluded by Design is thrilled to launch Krooshl in Calgary. Krooshl is a community map and marketplace that connects accessible restaurants and venues with people who need them, this includes people living with disabilities, seniors, new parents and the temporarily injured.

“When I broke my neck in 2019, I lost the ability to know which venues could accommodate my needs. Krooshl gives me back the independence to get out and confidently join friends for dinner again. While the global pandemic has shown how difficult it can be to own and operate a restaurant, these businesses have shown an inspiring resiliency and determination that mirrors the community of people living with disabilities we represent.”

    Krooshl Accessibility Appraisals

Children’s Link provides guidance and connects families raising children with disabilities to an extended network of over 1000 community resources, and we are so grateful that Krooshl is launching in Calgary. Krooshl will provide the families we serve the confidence to go out and participate in the community by alleviating the concerns surrounding barriers before arriving at a destination. For many years, our community has desired a tool like Krooshl, and following the increased social isolation we experienced due to the pandemic, reengaging in social life is critically needed to build back stronger.”
